Florida Legacy Films

I feel like I’ve always been a cameraman at heart.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a camera nearby, looking for stories worth capturing. Whether it’s a conversation with a grandparent, a friend's wedding day, something I was doing for work, I’m drawn to the same thing: people and their stories.

Legacy Films

A few years ago, I had the idea to record my grandpa’s stories on camera. He was getting older and living at my mom’s house, so the timing felt right. The idea was to set up my camera, ask him questions, and let him share his memories.

I thought I had plenty of time, but procrastination got the better of me.

Unfortunately, my grandpa passed away before I ever had the opportunity to sit down with him and record those stories. There are stories I’ve never heard and now never will. There is also a voice and a laugh my mom will never hear again.

I regret that tremendously.

However, out of that regret, my legacy films project was born. I’m taking something I wish I had done for my own family and turning it into something timeless and meaningful for others.

Most of the families I work with are at a point where they’ve started thinking differently about time. Parents are getting older. Grandkids are growing fast. And suddenly, the stories feel more important than the “stuff.”

Every legacy film is created through relaxed, in-person interviews, typically filmed in the comfort of the interviewee’s home. I guide the conversation and handle the entire process, from the interview to the final edit.

After the interview, I take that conversation into the editing room and transform it into a 20–40 minute documentary about their life, weaving in photographs, meaningful moments, and music to help tell their story. The goal is to create something that feels like watching your own family’s Netflix documentary.

Wedding Documentaries

I also create wedding documentaries, because #1: I love documentaries, and #2: I hate the typical wedding highlight reel that is so popular. It’s the people, the personalities, the nervous moments, the speeches, the inside jokes, the grandparents who may not always be there, and all the little moments you didn’t even realize were happening.

My approach to weddings is rooted in the same philosophy as my legacy films: document the people and the story, not just the event.

I want couples to be able to watch their film years from now and feel like they’re back in that room hearing the voices, reliving the emotions, and remembering the people who made the day meaningful.

Video Marketing

I also work professionally in video marketing and production, creating video content for businesses and organizations. My work has included interviews, testimonials, social media content, marketing videos, multi-camera productions, and everything that goes into turning real people and real experiences into compelling stories.

That experience has taught me something I carry into every project: good video isn’t just about having a nice camera. It’s about knowing what to capture, what questions to ask, what moments matter, and how to shape all of it into a story people actually want to watch.

That’s really what Florida Legacy Films is about.

Whether I’m sitting across from a grandparent telling stories from 60 years ago, documenting a couple on the biggest day of their lives, or helping a business tell people what makes it special, I’m trying to do the same thing:
